CATEGORY A1 125cc WITH A CAR DRIVER'S LICENSE
Riding a motorcycle up to 125cc, category A1, with a manual or automatic transmission!
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
To proceed with the driver's license application process, the following documents are required:
– 3 recent color photos, passport-sized.
– A photocopy of your ID card or passport, as well as your residence permit (if required)
– Social Security Number
– Tax Identification Number (TIN)
– Medical certificates from an ophthalmologist and a general practitioner, along with copies of the doctors’ payment receipts
- Completed Application – solemn declaration
– Application to have a driver's license printed
Applicants must have their personal TaxisNet codes on hand, as they are required for the online submission of applications and approvals via the gov.gr platform. If there are no active TaxisNet codes, they must first be issued through the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) or a Citizen Service Center (KEP) before the process can begin.

Practical Courses: 5 hours.
A class period is 45 minutes long.

DRIVING PRIVILEGES
What can I ride with an A1 125cc motorcycle license if I already have a car license:
– Motorcycles with a maximum engine displacement of 125 cm³, a maximum power output of 11 kW (14.75 hp), and a power-to-weight ratio of less than 0.1 kW/kg,
– A new driver’s license form bearing the relevant code (121) is issued.
The license is valid for 15 years; after that, it must be renewed.
REQUIREMENTS
What do I need to know to determine if I am eligible to obtain an A1 125cc motorcycle license if I already have a car license:
– The applicant must be at least 27 years old.
– The applicant must have held a driver’s license for more than 6 years.
– The applicant must complete 5 practical driving lessons, each lasting 45 minutes.
– The applicant must have been a legal resident of Greece or have held student status in Greece for at least six (6) months prior to the date of submission of the application and supporting documents.
– The applicant is not required to take a practical exam.
– A license in this category is valid only within Greece.
Please note that practical training is conducted using an A1-category training motorcycle, either with or without a manual clutch. After adding the national code “121” to category B, the applicant may drive, within Greek territory, A1 category vehicles, with or without a manual clutch, regardless of whether the training motorcycle used for practical training was equipped with a manual clutch or not.
