REQUIREMENTS
– If the interested party acquired their Serbian driving license before June 2, 2001, they can convert their driving license into a corresponding Greek one, regardless of whether or not they had their normal residence in Greece on the date of issuance.
– If the interested party acquired their Serbian driving license after June 2, 2001, they must not have had their normal residence in Greece at the time of its issuance and must not have renewed the driving license on or after May 19, 2020.
– The interested party must hold a valid Serbian license that has not expired.
– The applicant must have permanent residence in Greece (at least 185 days, or 85 days for European citizens). It is acceptable to submit the aforementioned document with the application even before the 185-day period has elapsed since its issuance. In this case, to meet the requirement for certifying the applicant’s habitual residence in Greece, in addition to this document, at least two (2) additional pieces of evidence covering the relevant period must be submitted. For example, two (2) of the following may be submitted: proof of taxation in the country, proof of home ownership or lease, a document certifying the applicant’s social security coverage, proof of the children’s education, an energy, telephone, or water bill, etc.
– If the interested foreign national, on the day of submission of the application and supporting documents, holds the status of a student or pupil in Greece, as well as for at least six (6) months prior, then instead of the aforementioned public document, the submission of the original certificate from the school or educational institution, confirming the student or pupil status, is required.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
The necessary documents required for the conversion of a driving license from Serbia to a Greek one
– 4 color photos, passport-sized.
– Photocopy of an ID card or passport and a residence permit valid for at least 185 days, or a European Citizen’s Card (valid for at least 85 days).
– Certificate of authenticity of the Serbian driving license (Requested officially)*
– Photocopy of the Serbian driving license.
– Official translation of a foreign driver’s license by a lawyer or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (If the text of the translation does not specify which vehicles the license holder is permitted to drive, a relevant certificate from the competent authority that issued the license must be submitted, along with a translation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a lawyer).
– Tax ID Number (including the date of issuance)**
– Social Security Number
– A certificate from an ophthalmologist and a general practitioner, as well as photocopies of the two payment receipts from the doctors (€10 + €10)
– Certificate of residence permit history issued by the Immigration Office.

* If the driver's license is not genuine, the individual is subject to penalties for making a false statement.
**This applies if the category for which the applicant is requesting an exchange was granted after June 2, 2001.
FEES
The necessary fees required for the conversion of a driving license from Serbia to a Greek one:
– Initial Category Issuance Fee: costs 60€
– Driver’s license printing fee, costs 30€
– Initial issuance stamp duty fee, costs 18€
OVERALL FEES: 108€
In the event that there is more than one driving license category, additional category extension fees must be paid: 27.02€ for a non-professional (amateur) category and/or 108.15€ for a professional category. The conversion does not apply to holders of a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for a truck or bus driving license.
